Class Syllabus

Basic Class #1

“Digital Photography Basics” - Reaching Exposure Nirvana – how to select and control your ISO Sensitivity, Aperture and Shutter Speed settings for perfectly-exposed images. Configuring your camera’s menu for optimal image quality. Principles of stop-motion photography and depth-of-field. And we answer the question: “What’s All This Crap In My Viewfinder?” Q&A Session to follow.

Basics Class #2

“What Are All These OTHER Freekin’ Buttons On My Camera?” – Quick review of Class #1. The basics of White Balance, Exposure Compensation, Autofocus/Exposure Override and Metering Selections (center weighted, spot & matrix). “So a photographers walks into a bar....” - how to shoot in any situation using your camera and your new talent. Q&A Session to follow.

Basics Class #3

“Care and Feeding of Your Digital Camera and Photo Files” – How to properly clean your lenses and camera. Choosing a photo imaging software – from PhotoShop to free imaging online. Photo accessories; lenses, flashes, tripods. Archiving your photo files – what to keep, how to keep it and where to store it. General overview of the three classes and another Q&A Session.
